Fox Run Kennels offers a full service training facility. We strive to meet the individual needs of every dog and owner we work with. Our introductory program or “Puppy” program as we call it is not just for puppies. It fits any dog that need more experience with birds, guns and anything hunting related. Most dogs that fit this program are between the ages of 6 months and a year-and-a-half. The program last for 3-4 weeks at the kennel and includes introduction to gun fire, loading into and out of a travel kennel, travel, and birds, birds and more birds. Once dogs have had this introduction, continued training is up to you as the owner and Matt as the trainer to decide on a specific training program for your dog.
Other training offered by Fox Run Kennels includes a month long trip to North Dakota, in the heart of wild birds, and a preliminary training opportunity for conditioning your hunting dogs before hunting season. Young dogs, as well as old, benefit from being worked on Sharptailed grouse and the high populations of wild pheasants in the area.
We also offer a much more in depth training program in Texas, from the end of January to the beginning of April. Wild birds are again the focus, but this time they focus on the abundant wild Quail populations in north Texas.
